Procurement

That calls for in-depth knowledge of the work, and involves taking the time to get to know the various suppliers properly. It also involves making clear agreements with them which, in addition to production and price, cover many 'secondary' aspects, such as safety, punctuality, the environment, innovation and the approach to third-parties. To us, procurement also means 'contract management'.
