186k, Fibre-Optic Backbone Network

Alliance Contract for the implementation of a nation wide Telecom Network. The IP based Backbone consists of three Fibre-Optic rings (Southern, Midlands and Northern) throughout the United Kingdom. The total length of the Backbone is 1800 km. The Network design consists of 8 cable ducts with a diameter of DN 50 mm and blowing-in of 1 Fibre Optic cable. The construction includes also the installation of amplifiers, backbone nodes with the cities and POP's (Point of Presence").
The Backbone Network connects the main cities in the United Kingdom, like Bristol, Glasgow, Edinburgh and London.
