On 8 September 2008 Nacap Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd, part of the Nacap Pipeline Group of Companies, has been awarded a contract by Leighton Contractors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for the execution of HDD and onshore pipeline works for their (EPCC) Muthurajawela SPBM and second Offshore Pipeline Project in Colombo Sri Lanka. Nacap works will comprise of the design and execution of a shore approach and a lagoon crossing by HDD technology, inclusive of all associated on-shore pipe string preparations and onshore pipeline works, and a scraper trap facility. The engineering and preparation works have commenced and are being executed from Nacap's Malaysian offices in Kuala Lumpur. Site installation works are due to commence in January 2009 with a completion of the project scheduled during March 2009.
