Khurais seawater injection & distribution headers

Nacap's Saudi Arabian subsidiary Suedrohrbau Saudi Ltd. signed a Euro 70 mio. contract with Saudi Aramco, Dammam Sunday 14 May 2006 for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the Khurais Sea Water Injection & Distribution Headers project.

The project is located in the area of Khurais, halfway the motorway between Dammam and Riyadh in the middle of the red sand dunes desert.

The Khurais field is an existing field with an output of some 300,000 barrels per day. Through water injection, it is envisaged to boost the production to 1.2 million barrels per day. The seawater is supplied from the Persian Gulf, and is then distributed throughout the Khurais field.

Our contract consists of building this distribution system, comprising of 507 km of Non Sour and Sour Seawater Transfer lines and Headers size 8" - 36 ", including MLV's and Scraper Facilities as well as associated civil-, mechanical-, electrical- and instrumentation works. Automatic welding will be applied for pipes 30" and above. All pipelines will be externally and internally FBE coated.

Contract start is 14 May 2006 and completion is scheduled for October 2008.
